All hand crafted and featuring deep relief carving, this traditional thronos was custom crafted for a large Orthodox church.Â It has a hinged seat and standard high ornately carved arm rests.Â The open panel allows for the placement of a custom icon.

This thronos was developed from a design provided by one of our customers. It features extensive hand carving and a folding seat.

Altar Thronos (Bishop’s Chair)

This chair was built from a design supplied by one of our customers. Features include: a carefully detailed Byzantine eagle on top, a removable icon panel, and extensive relief carving (done by hand). The chair is constructed using time-tested mortise and tenon joinery.

These chairs were designed and crafted for an Orthodox Church for placement in the Altar. The Thronos is carefully detailed with the Byzantine eagle and the Presbyter’s Chairs feature carved peacocks and other decorative elements. The chairs are constructed using time-tested mortise and tenon joinery. They are solid wood and hand made to exacting specifications.
